In architectural terms, clear span buildings are defined as buildings with no obstructions, such as support beams, pillars or poles occupying interior floor space for the purpose of bracing the building. For temporary event buildings, poles are often used to support buildings, but this can cause obstructions within the floor space.

Support poles don’t always prove to be an insurmountable problem for event organizers and can even serve to enhance the aesthetic appeal of a building. However, many events and uses of temporary structures require wide, open spaces. Examples of applications where clear span structures are imperative to success include sporting events, car shows and trade shows.

Clear span structures can be used on a short or long-term basis, as installation is easy enough for short-term use, but structures are durable enough to last when used for long-term solutions.

Another benefit of clear span structures is the versatility they offer in terms of design options. Either clear vinyl or traditional tent canvas can be used to cover our clear span structures. A combination of both canvas and vinyl can be used to add skylights, transparent side panels and more. Glass panels, hard walls can also be used as a material of choice for temporary or permanent clear span structures.

The highly adjustable dimensions of clear span structures make them suitable for events of all sizes, whether it’s a small intimate gathering or an internationally recognized occasion. Clients also have the option of choosing between structures that are one or two levels in height, with staircases and balconies included in the design.

Adaptability options of clear span buildings don’t stop at building design. The open building space provided by clear span structures lends itself well to a wide variety of large interior layouts. Large elements like stages, seating boxes and even inside balconies can be fitted into the interior of clear span buildings.

The inclusion of seating boxes and stages in clear span structures make them an excellent venue choice for entertainment events, as audiences can get a clear view of the stage area from an elevated level. While we don’t currently offer seating boxes as an in-house service, we encourage you to reach out to us with all your event requirements.

Large, unrestricted interior areas also prove useful for fashion and beauty events, as runway stages can be constructed and easily fitted into a clear span building.
